The Legend

Jaisalmer – the city drenched in amber delight and etched in yellow sandstone freezes the time of the royal past. Perched on the Trikuta Hill, it stands proudly as a testimony to the times that it has witness through the annals of history. Giving the desert a reason to be…Jaisalmer is truly a beautiful place to witness.
Like every place in India, Jaisalmer too has its legend to be told. According to this legend, Lord Krishna who was the head of Yadav clan had foretold Arjuna that a remote descendent of the Yadav clan would mark his kingdom on the Trikuta Hill. His prophecy turned true. The city of Jaisalmer was founded in 1156 by Rawal Jaisal, a Bhatti Rajput King (Bhattis are descendents of the Moon dynasty whose origin is traced to Lord Krishna).

This beautiful splendour in the middle of the Thar Desert is the City of Jaisalmer. It still dazzles in the glory of the past and each day it marks a beautiful beginning with golden view in the early morning. The sunset too has a panoramic glow here. These sights still have the capacity to give you goosebumps!
Infused with colours, traditions and hospitality, Hotel Priya Jaisalmer too is influenced by the local flavour of the Thar. The sandstone architecture of Hotel Priya is one small example of abiding by the beauty of the region.
